About Marshall Krueger
My name is Marshall Krueger, and I am a work at home dad. I live in a city in Canada called Kamloops. It’s semi desert, which really has no bearing on anything at all except that it is kind of cool (in the shades sense, not the temperature sense) and really hot (the temperature sense), hotter than most people think it gets in this country.
I am teetering on the Cliff of Cool, trying to keep from falling into the Abyss of Age, but I am about to turn thirty and I can see my foothold slipping. Part of what is pushing me over the edge are my three kids, who are by no means ill behaved but really make me wonder if there was a time when I had that much energy.
I wish I could report that they were the ones telling me: “Work at home Dad.” Reality is that they do not even know life any other way. They always had me at home.
My Kids
I owe the existence of those 3 kids (and I wonder what I thought the meaning of life was before I met them) to my wife Erin, a registered nurse and the ballast that kept us headed in the right direction while I tried to figure out what I was going to do. We have been married for eight years and that relationship is definitely one of the smartest things I have ever done in my life.
Unlike a lot of freelancers, or pseudo freelancers, that you come across I think a University education is important for people who want to write. In fact, I have found that a lot of the skills I honed while earning my BA degree from Thompson Rivers University have been very helpful in my career so far, particularly when it comes to following a research trail.
Business Credentials
As far as the business goes and my credentials as a freelance writer and advice giver, well I think you can see for yourself in the pages on this site. I don’t think I (or most of my family for that matter) have ever been as surprised by something as I have been by the fact that I can earn a decent wage online and be a work at home dad at the same time.
So if that is your dream (or being a work at home mum): Go for it. I think that there is enough work out there to keep anyone busy who is a competent writer!
